RELIGION

What is your RELIGION??  Hindu?  Muslim?  Christian?
But, have you ever wondered, what is the difference between a Hindu or a Muslim or a Christian. The Only Difference is their respective mindset setup by their parents & environment. From our childhood, we are told by our parents, what are the restrictions of our RELIGION. And, people (except few) follow those restrictions blindly. They never dare to go beyond those restrictions, because that’ll be a SIN!!!!
SIN!!!! Where does this sin goes, when innocent kids & women are killed for personal intentions. That’s not a sin??

I think, there should be only one religion in this world. And, that’s HUMANITY, which is been pissed off every single day. Religion is about caring for other people, it’s not about going to temple or church or masjid to pray for yourself……

Millions & Billions of money are spent in Pujas & other religious works. For what? To bribe God? “If you give good donation in the name of god, you’ll be blessed with happiness & all your problems will solved.” Is this some kind of Give-and-Take system???

No!!! God don’t need your money, he’s always with us & blessing us. We can spend this same amount of money for charity to orphans and others who are needy. Millions of innocent & helpless children will bless you with their smile. That’s the biggest blessing in the world.

Now, let’s come to SUPERSTIONS. Superstition has always been an integral part of religion. Superstition has now become an opportunity for many people to make money. India is at the top of the list. The increasing numbers of astrologers and most importantly increasing number of their believers proves that, though we are talking about technology & science, still now we are backward. Not only the illiterate people, but many high-educated people goes to these astrologers to know their future and to take a ring for their betterment. How foolish they are!!!! If wearing a ring around your finger can solve all your problems, then there should be no problems in this world!!!!

I don’t know whether you agree with me or not, but, I request you to at least think about these matters. Don’t just agree with something which your environment tells you. Think about it! We are Gen X, we have the power to change this world. Don’t waste this power. I beg to you! Lets just be Logical……..

Article On Sunday Times-04/04/2010

This is not my article. This is an article from the Sunday Times Of
India dated- 04/04/10. Page-2. I liked this article, so I'm Posting
it. For my own articles u can browse my archives.

Still passionate? Guitar gurus ask GenNext
Krishnendu Mukherjee | TNN

Sometimes you want to give up the guitar, you'll hate the guitar.
But if you stick with it, you're gonna be rewarded". That was Jimi
Hendrix, talking about what drove him to greater heights of
excellence.

Four decades after the guitar god's death, his words still ring
true, especially for the guitarcrazy GenNext. But the big question is:
what does the guitar signify for today's youth? Has the instrument
become just a "chick magnet" to pep up cool quotient? Or does the wind
blow in new directions these days?

Three decades have passed since the rock movement arrived in
Kolkata with bands like High and Great Bear. Though the guitar has
played a lead, the passion for the instrument
seems to have undergone a sea change with the passage of time. Forget
the days when budding guitarists used to emulate musicians like Slash,
Mark Knopfler and David Gilmour, rue old-timers. "Times' are
achangin". Guitar, it seems, is only an instrument to get
certificates. No doubt that guitar is becoming increasingly popular.
And it's a very positive trend...but all this is happening after some
box office hits," says musician Amyt Dutt, referring to the post-Rock
On scene.
"The issue calls for a consensus. Even parents want kids to take
up guitar nowadays, but not for the art. The positivity is somehow
shallow and lacks depth," feels Dutt.
For veteran Nondon Bagchi, Rock On is not the cause of change.
"The film actually captures some changes in social values," he says.
Whenever a change takes place, Bagchi says, there will be those who
are genuine and those who pretend to be genuine. "But change has to
come. And that is what is happening now."
A tour of non-descript Paschimpara in Belur will tell you how
popular the guitar is among today's youth. Essentially a residential
area, the colony has all of a sudden become an "industrial hub" — of
guitar manufacturers. Locals say in the last couple of years, guitar
shops and factories have mushroomed in the area.
"There's an unprecedented demand. It seems everybody wants a
guitar these days. I am in the trade for almost 40 years, but have
never seen this before," says Mukunda Biswas, the man behind the M
Biswas brand. "A couple of months ago, I used to make about 70 guitars
a week. Now it's nearly 100, sometimes more," he says.
But this story has its flip side, too. "It's wonderful that the
music movement has got fresh wind. But don't you think that it's a bit
misdirected? Most of the buyers, it seems, are not much bothered about
the quality of the sound. All they want is the look of the
instrument," Biswas says, fixing the bass string of a rosewood guitar.
Subhashish Biswas, manufacturer of Signature guitars from
the same area, has his order books full. "We make 600-700 guitars a
month. The demand is growing. By May, I have to make 1,000 guitars. It
still seems like the other day when I had set up my own business with
four labourers. Today, 42 help me in running the show," he does not
seem to complain.
Guitar has travelled a long way in the city. And it holds truth if
one really takes into account its journey from the lanes of Kolkata 16
in the 70s, when, to put it in Dutt's words, "the beauty of difference
was shared between the natives and the Anglo-Indians", to this day
when the instrument has made its way into every household.
"But why this sudden craze? Isn't it commercialisation of the
instrument?" Dutt is worried.
Lou Majaw, the "Bob Dylan of Meghalaya", has a different take.
"Every individual has his or her own way of looking at things. And I
have no grudge against this. But the fact remains that a true musician
will always have oneness with the instrument. He will never run after
brand, look and money. No matter if a guitar is from an ordinary
company... Lou will still perform songs with the instrument," he says.
"Dedication is a point that has to be raised. But even in midst of
this sudden craze, we are getting quality musicians," says Ayan
Banerjee, a guitarist who was formerly associated with Bangla bands
like Abhilasha and Marudyan.

ROCK STAR

In this article, I will talk about Rock star. If you haven’t read my previous article named ROCK MUSIC. Plz read it & then read this. Link - http://rockursense.blogspot.com/2010/04/rock-music.html

Everyone wants to be Rock star holding an electric guitar in hand & shaking his head like hell. He He! Its quite funny!

But, Actually a Rock star is nothing like that. Let me give an example to explain a Rock star-

Suppose, a huge group of people are walking in a particular direction like robots, and, suddenly one person among them thought differently and turned-around and started to walk in opposite direction. He will be facing difficulties because the path he chose was never chosen by anyone. But, he was determined to achieve his goal by hook or by crook. Inspired by his determination, some people followed his path. And, one day he achieved his goal to break free from the conventional path. This one person is a Rock Star.

You don’t have to be a singer to be a Rock Star. Everyone, can be a Rock star in their own field of interest. They just need Strong Determination and ability to think differently from the World.

For me, Che Guevara, Karl Marx, Galileo, etc. all are Rock stars. If they didn’t thought about things in other way, they would have been mere ordinary people. The World never accepts new ideas easily, but they made the world accept. People like Galileo was even killed. But, today he is theory is still alive. They are the True Rock Stars.

ROCK MUSIC

This is an article about Rock Music! Most of u will think this is a crap cuz everyone knows what is rock music!! But, In INDIA there is more mis-conception than conception about Rock.

At the beginning of this article, I want to say that there is no particular definition of Rock Music. This article is based on my take on Rock. Yours may be different. You can go ahead and write your own in the ‘comments’ box.

FOR ME, Rock Music is not just a genre of music. But, Its a combination of philosophy and music. It’s a lifestyle. Its the way I think about things around me. From politics to superstition to Love. Anything, in my way. That’s why I always say that ROCK cannot have a particular definition. In any other form of music, this is not possible because, in my opinion, they don’t have such philosophy.

Some people (especially in India) say, that Rock is not a serious form of Music because its very loud and don’t soothe their ears. To those people, I want to ask a question- When do you talk loud or scream? Its when you are in an extreme position. The same happens to rock. Its about Revolution. And, in revolution you can’t be in a low mode. You have to be extreme cuz you have to change the world. When I can’t tolerate something and want to break-free, that’s Rock to me.

Now-a-days, youngsters (I am too, but not among them) think that rock is all about Long hairs, screaming & drugs. This is completely a mis-conception. Of course, Rock is loud. But, it is not meaningless.

So, I’ve finished my article. Maybe, its quite boring to you. Do give your comments.
